Banca Carige selects Diebold to automate branches

May 28, 2009 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- DBD | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Banca Carige, an Italian financial services company, has selected Diebold, a provider of self-service delivery and security systems and services, for the implementation of a transformation project of its branches.

Diebold said that the bank has started to renovate its automated branches, utilizing Diebold Agilis software and Opteva automated teller machines. In the agreement, Diebold provided a multichannel and multivendor platform based on Agilis software and is also providing: cash dispensers, ATM check book dispensers, ATM foreign currency dispensers, ATM cash and check deposit units, night drop depository and self-service information terminals.

According to Diebold, its relationship with Banca Carige includes the adoption of Agilis multichannel software for its ATMs which allows for increased flexibility in processing new cutting-edge services for customers. The Agilis multichannel software is installed in 500 of Banca Carige's ATMs for four different vendors.

Diego Piovan, director of Banca Carige Group's organization department, said: "Diebold offers the most flexible ATM technology to assist in renovating our branches with full-function automated services. We chose Diebold's Agilis multichannel software because it effectively supports our retail banking services in a multivendor scenario."
