Cameroon's cocoa season officially runs from August through July of each year.
Barry Callebaut owns 70% of Sic Cacao SA, which has an annual grinding capacity of 30,000 tons of cocoa beans, while Cameroon's government and private local investors control the rest.
Sic Cacao is investing more funds to increase its crushing capacity.
Barry Callebaut Cameroon bought 21,000 tons of cocoa beans for processing in the 2007-08 season, down from 21,865 tons in the previous season, government and industry data show.
