Total two-wheeler sales, however, stood at 1,18,574 units in May as against 1,12,770 units in the same month of 2008, up 5.15 per cent, the company said in a statement.
The company's scooter sales, however, declined by 1.94 per cent at 22,486 units compared with 22,931 units in the same month last year, it added.
During the month, TVS exported 11,135 units of two- wheelers as against 14,071 units in the corresponding period of 2008, down 20.87 per cent.
During the current month, TVS would launch Apache RTR 180 in the premium segment of the motorcycle market, it said.
