"We like to have all people from all cultures attend," said Bob Saffold, executive secretary for the Florida Sportsman's Association and chairman of the Washington Heights Concerned Citizens Inc., which cosponsors the festival. Barring any objection by Sebring City Council, the 12-hour-suaree is tentatively scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. June 20, at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Lemon Street. Saffold said he be attending today's city council meeting to get approval for some street closings, which he is coordinating with city staff, the Sebring Police Department and Sebring Fire Rescue. Staff recommends approval of the measure. The major sponsor is Mountain Top Administration Inc., owned by Harold and Lena Connor, he said. There will be dancing, music, face painting, story telling, exhibits, and of course, food. Organizers are looking for sponsors and vendors. There is no charge this year for vendors, but they need to fill out their vendor application forms and submit them by June 10. Vendors are asked to have a tent. "We would like all medical agencies in the county to come and bring their information about what they do," Saffold said. For additional information, call 863-381-5166.
