LOS ANGELES, Jun 02, 2009 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- DIS | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Disney Interactive Studios will unveil an expansive portfolio of video games for kids, families and gamers on most major game platforms and devices during the 2009 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), the industry trade show, June 2-4 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Disney Interactive Studios' games take players through experiences on a variety of platforms, including home consoles, handheld devices, computers and smart phones, including iPhone and Android. Products target diverse demographics while taking advantage of each hardware's unique features to provide high-quality entertainment experiences that showcase both new intellectual properties and well known Disney franchises.

"Disney Interactive Studios continues to stake a leadership position in making innovative and creative games available to players everywhere they play," said Graham Hopper, executive vice president and general manager, Disney Interactive Studios. "We're continuing to drive our business by leveraging familiar Disney brands and creating new innovative properties that provide audiences with entertaining products which create lasting positive memories."

The company's rich line-up is highlighted by new franchises for home consoles: Split/Second, an intense, action arcade racing game in which players trigger large-scale, dramatic events that take out opponents and alter the race track; Pirates of the Caribbean: Armada of the Damned, a new open world action role playing game with an original story based in the Pirates of the Caribbean universe; Toy Story Mania!, a fast-paced, fun-filled video game inspired by the immensely popular new attraction at the Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort, featuring the iconic characters and humor from the popular Disney/Pixar "Toy Story" franchise; Spectrobes: Origins, the next step in the evolution of the popular sci-fi game franchise to the Wii; and Disney Sing It: Pop Hits, the third title in the hit video-based karaoke video game series.
