--The 36th Annual Indian Village Home and Garden Tour will run 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday. The tour will feature nine homes, a carriage house, two gardens and three churches. There'll be an artists' lot, too. A school in the neighborhood and churches will sell food and refreshments. Most of the approximately 350 homes in the area were built between 1895 and the late 1920s. Indian Village is 3 miles east of downtown Detroit, bounded by East Jefferson, Mack Avenue, Seminole and Burns. Admission is $20 on the day of the tour, $15 in advance. --The Corktown Home and Garden Tour, will be 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday. It will feature two Corktown cottages, a two-story Greek Revival-turned-Victorian home and garden, three storefronts with apartments above them, a Greek Revival townhouse, a Victorian Queen Anne home, and a 21st Century Victorian Vernacular home. Tour-goers will be able to visit Ladel's, a house-turned-children's bookstore. Area restaurants and shops will offer special treats. Most Holy Trinity Church, which has the oldest Michigan-built organ in the state, will be open and an organist will play throughout the day.
For $20, visitors can take a bus from 13 Mile and Southfield Road to Corktown, via www.FeetOnTheStreetTours.com.The tour costs $15. For an additional $5, visitors can take a bus to the homes and work spaces of four artists. The bus gallery crawls are at 12:30 and 2:30 p.m.
For an additional $15, visitors can rent a bike for a guided bike tour of Corktown at noon, 1 and 2 p.m.
