Club Med Insider Optimizes Forums for Increased Traveler Dialogue

MIAMI, FL, Jun 03, 2009 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) -- CLBXF | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Club Med Insider launched optimized forums today to further facilitate traveler dialogue on the site. The newly optimized forums allow users to view latest posts and most recent questions directly on the site's homepage. The upgrade displays updates in real time; users can participate with a simple click. Guests can also browse featured forums, most commented posts and most popular topics.

"We've had a fair amount of forum participation since the launch of the Club Med Insider in March," comments Kate Moeller, public relations director at Club Med. "But, we wanted to make it even easier to join the conversation. Based on our observations of how guests participate in forums and user feedback, we found that updates directly on the homepage pique the interest of a higher number of visitors."

The social media arm of Club Med's online presence, www.ClubMedInsider.com, serves as a hub where travelers shape content through personal profiles, stories, photo galleries, forums, favorites, comments and travel tips. The site also allows travelers the unique opportunity to read and comment on articles from experts in travel deals, parenting, scuba diving, sustainable tourism, recipes and cuisine, as well as join contests.

"Because of the nature of our vacations, Club Med guests gravitate towards building community. They have a long history of participating in social media," comments Moeller. "Club Med Insider's upgraded forums also help us stay current and communicate timely information to our online following."

An eclectic blend of partners, staff and professional writers shape the "Expert Advice" component of the Web site with daily to weekly articles, contests and trends and tips lists. Prospective travelers can also post questions, peruse other's videos and photos and gain inspiration from recent Club Med media coverage in the "Latest Buzz" section.

Club Med past guests enjoyed an exclusive peek at Club Med Insider beginning Feb. 26, 2009. The clients were invited to test drive the site's functionality and suggest improvements, many of which led to the forum upgrade. Club Med plans to introduce more enhanced functionalities to the site in July.
