Another contributing factor behind the pullback is the ever shrinking orders from exhibitors. Besides these big players, the second-level garment makers in Ningbo were also absent from the show. Local fashion brands in Ningbo have been mainstay of the show since its inception.
"We have gotten our own distribution channels now, so we do not need to attend the exhibition any more," says an executive from Youngor. In addition to the exhibition, Younger even did not show up at the China Import and Export Commodities Fair, the most historical, famous exhibition in China.
This year, the show has drawn 10,668 exhibitors from 80 countries and regions around the world. A total of 884 investment-introduction agreements have been signed during the fair.
