ViroPharma names new board member

Jun 09, 2009 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- CEPH | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- ViroPharma, a biopharmaceutical company, has appointed Frank Baldino, Jr, to its board of directors. Dr Baldino has previously served as a member of the company's board of directors from 1996 to 2006.

Dr Baldino is the CEO and chairman of the board of directors of Cephalon, a biopharmaceutical company. Dr Baldino founded Cephalon in 1987 and has served as CEO and director since its inception.

Prior to joining Cephalon, Dr Baldino served as senior research biologist in the medical products department at EI duPont de Nemours & Company. Dr Baldino has received his PhD in pharmacology from Temple University.

Dr Baldino chairs the executive council of the Harvard Division of Sleep Medicine and is a member of the board of trustees at Temple University and The Franklin.
