Guild members last week turned down a contract with numerous concessions, although seven other Globe unions have agreed to cuts after the newspaper's owner, New York Times Co., threatened to close the newspaper if it did not reduce annual costs by $20 million.
Guild members represent about half of that amount, The Boston Globe reported Monday.
Guild executive committee member Kathie Dalton said union officials had been "working on the number since the day after the 'no' vote."
The company said a meeting scheduled for Monday would be restricted to discussions of how the 23 percent pay cut would be implemented, the newspaper said.
"Throughout our negotiations we made our savings and restructuring needs very clear to the Guild. They were consistent with what was worked out in the seven union agreements that have now been ratified," said Bob Powers, a Globe spokesman.
Representing 20 workers, the Graphic Communications Local 600 became the seventh Globe union to approve a new contract Saturday.
Engravers voted 10-1 to approve about $200,000 in annual cutbacks.
