Its seat occupancy coefficient stood at 73.9 percent and load ratio reached 64.2 percent, stepping down 3.1 and 6.4 percentage points from a year earlier, respectively, according to its May report.
Hainan Airlines, the fourth biggest of its kind nationwide, has focused on the domestic business, which accounts for more than 90 percent of its total operations.
In April and May, its transportation separately went up 12.3 and 17.7 percent, suggesting that the breakout of the A(H1N1) influenza has had just a limited negative impact upon its business.
Since September 2008, the airway has been expanding its business in spite of the depressing market. Its available seat kilometers (ASK) had risen over 10 percent year on year for nine consecutive months, and the rise hit 22.7 percent in April 2009 and 25.4 percent in May 2009.
