RESTON, Va., Jun 19, 2009 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- SWIR | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- KORE Telematics, the world's largest digital wireless services provider specializing in machine-to-machine (M2M) communications, today announced that it was honored by the M2M magazine Value Chain Awards for playing an integral role in the accomplishments of several of its partners and their customers. Eastside Management, PureSense, Multi-Tech Systems and KORE were honored with a Gold award, Arizona Public Service, Elster, Sierra Wireless and KORE received a Bronze Value Chain award and Mr. Handyman, Rocky Mountain Tracking and KORE took home a Bronze award. The annual Value Chain Awards recognize the most successful adopters of M2M technology and the teams of solution providers that make their successes possible.

"Those involved in M2M are facing a pivotal time in the industry's growth. There are now millions of machines communicating with each other. However, there are still millions that do not," said Peggy Smedley, editorial director, M2M magazine. "It won't be long until other companies see the value and take advantage of the opportunity that can come from implementing this technology. This year's Value Chain Award winners have recognized what M2M can do for them in both a wired and wireless world, and they are now being honored for that insight."

KORE and the other winners were announced at the 2009 Value Chain Awards ceremony in Chicago. The formal black-tie dinner and awards event is part of the fifth annual M2M Connected World show, formerly know as the M2M United conference, an industry event that promotes the development, awareness and business value of machine-to-machine technology.

Value Chain Award Winners

-- KORE, PureSense and Multi-Tech Systems provided technology for Eastside Management, which won the Gold Value Chain award. Eastside Management, one of the largest almond growers in California, uses the KORE network for wireless soil moisture probes that produce healthier, higher-yielding crops.

-- KORE, Elster, Arizona Public Service (APS) and Sierra Wireless were honored with a Bronze Value Chain Award for the rollout of an automated metering infrastructure (AMI) to 1.1 million homes.

-- KORE, Rocky Mountain Tracking and Mr. Handyman received a Bronze Value Chain Award for the use of an innovative fleet tracking solution. Mr. Handyman, the largest handyman system for home and commercial maintenance, monitors and manages vehicles from 300 locations in the U.S. and Canada over the KORE network.

"KORE is honored to be recognized again this year with Value Chain Awards," said Alex Brisbourne, president and chief operating officer, KORE Telematics. "M2M magazine and the Value Chain Awards provide true peer recognition for the innovations accomplished with the KORE network by our partners and their customers. KORE is dedicated to helping its partners deliver new M2M applications that provide immediate and measurable business value to end users across the globe."
