From a Customer Relationship Management program that enables sellers to increase Detailed Seller Ratings (DSR) to analytical tools for sellers that provide insight on its products' current market value, these applications were developed from an increasingly dynamic eBay ecosystem.
The Star Developer Awards are presented annually to recognize the talent and solutions of members of the eBay Developers Program. The eBay Developers Program, established in 2000, is a community of over 90,000 developers that utilize the program's standards-based, easy-to-use development platform. The third-party developers have access to the eBay marketplace, enabling them to seamlessly integrate their new ideas and e-commerce tools.
"eBay's developer community has created over 13,000 active applications used by eBay buyers and sellers, and has grown five percent in just the last quarter," said Max Mancini, senior director of Platform and Mobile at eBay. "These award winners bring solutions to users that make them more efficient, as well as features that make eBay a great place to shop and do business."

- Early Adopter: Mercent Retail for eBay by Mercent
- Service to the Developer Community: Jake Becker (helios825) of WatchCount.com

2009 Runners-up include:

"Year over year, the Star Developer Awards honor a talented set of companies and individuals that have positively disrupted the selling and buying power of eBay," said Kumar Kandaswamy, head of eBay Developers Program. "The innovative and entrepreneurial spirit of our award winners never ceases to amaze us."
The annual eBay Developers Conference 2009 takes place on June 16 to 18 at eBay's headquarters in San Jose.
