Tata Teleservices Joins Forces with ECI Telecom for Fixed Broadband Services Across India

Jun 23, 2009 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- ECIL | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- ECI Telecom, a provider of networking infrastructure solutions for NGN migration, and Tata Teleservices Limited (TTSL) announced they have partnered to develop an Indian fixed-broadband access network supporting speeds of up to 18 Mbps.

As part of the frame agreement, TTSL said it will deploy an all-IP network featuring ECI's Hi FOCuS Multi-Service Access Node (MSAN) and SR9000 Carrier Ethernet Switch Router (CESR) platforms. The broadband access solution for TTSL's 'Photon Pro' network has already been successfully deployed across eight cities: Hyderabad, Bangalore, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Vizag, Vijayawada, Surat and Baroda.

"ECI's expertise and in-depth understanding of broadband access solutions were key factors in the decision to choose ECI for this project. The company's market solutions allow us to deliver a full spectrum of next-generation services, well ahead of other operators in the market, while addressing evolving needs as network architecture and technologies change in the future," said A G Rao, President & CTO, Tata Teleservices Limited.

Tata Teleservices is an Indian private telecom service provider with pan-India presence. The company offers integrated telecom solutions to its customers under the Tata Indicom brand.
