Beijing Agreed CNY550mn in A-type H1N1 Flu Vaccine Storage
SVA | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- The government of Beijing has agreed to invest CNY 550 million in the storage of A-type H1N1 flu vaccines and medicines that are used to prevent and control the A-type H1N1 flu as the first batch of A-type H1N1 flu vaccines in China have been finished.
Beijing Sinovac Biotech Ltd. (AMEX:SVA), which specializes in the research, development, and production of virus vaccines, is the first company in the nation receiving A-type H1N1 flu vaccine orders, which has an annual production capacity of 20 million to 30 million pieces.
Vaccine maker Hualan Biological Engineering, Inc. (Hualan Bio, SZSE: 002007) on June 22, 2009 also announced that its A-type H1N1 flu vaccines had been finished, which are expected to come into market this September.
A pharmaceutical analyst at Goldstate Securities Co., Ltd. forecasts that consumption of the A-type H1N1 flu vaccines will surge, due to the spread-out of the flu across the world.
