General Dynamics to provide communications link for NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter mission

General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), announced on Wednesday that it is
providing the communications link to NASA for its Lunar Reconnaissance
Orbiter (LRO) mission, which was launched on 18 June.
Financial details were not disclosed.
According to General Dynamics its Advanced Multi-Mode Transceivers have
been specifically modified for the LRO mission. Communicating at S-Band
frequencies through the NASA Ground Network and Deep Space Network, the
LRO will use General Dynamics' tranceivers to send health and status
updates and receive command instructions from NASA.
General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems produces, operates and
maintains mission systems for the space and defence industries.
