This will mark the first time that nanaco points will be exchangeable with those of another company.
Users will be able to turn Yahoo! Points, accumulated through online purchases or use of Yahoo's auction site, into nanaco points starting Monday. The conversion, at an exchange rate of 85 nanaco points for every 100 Yahoo! Points, will take around two days to complete once a user makes a request. Exchanges from nanaco points to Yahoo! Points will begin by autumn.
Both companies' points can be used as money, with one point equaling one yen.
As of May-end, Seven & i had issued 7.92 million nanaco cards. Yahoo Japan has 25 million members. By increasing the number of places where the points can be spent, both companies aim to boost the number of users.
