Supports, or risers, that use Noble's intellectual property are lighter, enabling offshore contractors to increase exploration depths by 20 percent or more compared with steel risers, New York-based Alcoa said Thursday. No price was disclosed.
Alcoa is increasing its exposure to the oil-exploration industry as crude oil prices have risen by more than half this year.
