Spansion appoints new CFO

Jun 26, 2009 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- SANM | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Spansion, a provider of flash memory solutions, has appointed Randy Furr as its executive vice president and CFO.

Most recently, Mr Furr held senior executive positions at Magellan; Aliph; and Adobe Systems. In addition, he spent 13 years at Sanmina-SCI, nine as president and COO and four as executive vice president and chief CFO. Prior to Sanmina-SCI, he has also held management positions at General Signal and Arrow Engineering.

Mr Furr will report directly to John Kispert, president and CEO, replaces interim CFO, Nate Sarkisian.

Mr Kispert said: "Randy brings a wealth of experience as a successful CFO along with a deep understanding of operations and a track record of managing companies through restructuring and growth periods.

"With the addition of Randy Furr, we have strengthened our management team with an accomplished executive who will help guide Spansion through our restructuring process and provide the financial discipline necessary for Spansion to successfully pursue its new business strategy focused on the embedded solutions market and IP licensing."
