Brian Padilla, one of the managing partners, said the restaurant under construction at 2750 Mall Dr. in Las Cruces could be ready for business by late July.
"We're pretty close," Padilla said. "It's coming along and we're excited."
He said major construction is close to being finished and, "we're hoping to have it turned over to us, probably some time in the second week of July."
He said the Las Cruces location will employ about 100 workers and be 6,000 square feet with about 50 televisions.
Buffalo Wild Wings is based in Minneapolis.
An El Paso restaurant is also set to open in July in the building that once housed a Bennigan's restaurant at 10497 Gateway West.
Padilla said he and Las Cruces businessman Dale Schueller are partners for the New Mexico and El Paso operations of San Antonio-based franchisee Alamo Wing.
Last year Alamo Wing opened a restaurant in Albuquerque.
Cancer center to have ribbon cutting
Memorial Medical Center held a groundbreaking ceremony in January for a trio of projects that were estimated to cost more than $20 million, add or renovate more than 25,000 square feet of property and create about 50 new jobs.
The first of those projects to get up and running is the tomotherapy capability at the Ikard Cancer Treatment Center.
"On May 19 we started seeing patients," said Mandy Leatherwood, the marketing manager
with MMC.
At 11 a.m. on Monday, June 29 the hospital will hold an official ribbon-cutting ceremony to its Tomotherapy Hi-Art Treatment System. The medical center reports it spent the beginning of the year renovating the Ikard facilities, upgrading equipment and installing the tomotherapy unit.
According to MMC, tomotherapy is able to deliver more effective doses of radiation with fewer side effects. Daily CT scan images are taken of the tumor and surrounding tissues to precisely localize the target
Also this year, MMC is expanding its critical care unit and will add a new cath lab.
Durango Bagel looks for new owner
Katie Hille and her mother Sue Hamilton own Durango Bagel at 1495 S. Solano Dr., but Hille said a new owner might be in place soon.
She said the eatery was put up for sale last year and a potential buyer has been found and is close to purchasing the business.
"It's just time," she said of why she decided to sell.
Hille and Hamilton have owned the company since the summer of 2004. They moved it from 2460 Locust St. to its Solano location in 2007.
Hotel unveils new look
America's Best Value Inn at 2160 W. Picacho Ave., held a ribbon-cutting ceremony last week as it unveiled part of the renovation project the owners have undertaken.
"The first major stage is done," said David Girle, who owns the location along with his wife Elina Sihombing.
The location was an Economy Inn when the couple purchased it a couple of years ago, but they changed the franchise to America's Best Value Inn and set about to give the place a facelift.
The rooms have been upgraded with new air conditioners, bathroom tile and fixtures, carpet and furnishings. They all feature WiFi, refrigerators and microwaves.
Also, the outside spaces near the entrance have been xeriscaped as has courtyard in the back. The pool was replaced with a newer one and a gazebo with a running fountain was added.
