Under the contract, the company will provide International Direct Dial, IDD, and other voice termination services outside BT's own footprint countries. It will also provide BT access to its routing capabilities and on-line management systems. Additionally, BT will become the company's main distribution channel for its IDD traffic into the UK.
The company said the deal will provide both the companies with access to additional capacity and enable them to benefit from their respective extensive global networks and cost structures.
Michel Guyot, president of Global Voice Solutions at Tata Communications, said: "We are proud to become BT's primary supplier of international voice termination services. The agreement will increase both partners' competitiveness and will enhance our respective service offerings. We are also very excited to have BT as our main distribution channel in the UK as we are confident that BT's resources and strong knowledge of the European market will be of great benefit to Tata Communications."
Earlier this year, the company expanded its data center services with the launch of a data center in London to provide co-location, managed hosting, and managed storage services, in addition to related and complementary value-added services for the EMEA market.
