SNMG1 will just have completed counter piracy operations off the Horn of Africa. The five ships participating in the Sea Day are: NRP Corte Real (flagship, Portugal), ESPSBlas de Lezo (Spain), HNLMS De Zeven Provincien (Netherlands), USS Halyburton (United States of America) and FGS Emden (Germany). The U.S.carrier USS Eisenhower is also planned to participate in the day's events.

Applications to the flag ship event are accepted in the following order:
Priority 1:Journalists representing national Portuguese, Spanish, Dutch, German and American media organizations, at the rate of one radio or print journalist andone two-person television team from each major media organization.
Priority 2:Journalists representing international media organizations.
Priority 3:Journalists representing other media organizations.
All media representatives must pre-register for entrance to Rota Naval Base by completing the attached registration form and returning it to the SHAPE Public Affairs Office by 12:00on Monday, 6 July. A registration form is attached.

1. The Standing NATO Maritime Group 1 (SNMG1) is one of four immediate maritime reaction forces. It is a multinational seagoing force, on task continuously, giving NATO the ability to respond quickly as the spearhead of the NRF, with the flexibility to promote NATO's interest anywhere in the world.
