Starr Indemnity & Liability Company Announces Management Appointments

NEW YORK, Jul 01, 2009 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- AIG | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Starr Indemnity & Liability Company is pleased to announce the following management appointments:

Jim Vendetti - Senior Vice President & Chief Underwriting Officer. Jim will be responsible for building and managing all underwriting units, which will include Property, Casualty, Financial Lines, Environmental, Crisis Management and Programs business. Jim has extensive underwriting and managerial experience in property and casualty insurance. He most recently served as Senior Vice President for AIU, an insurance subsidiary of American International Group, Inc. During that time he was responsible for all International Casualty, Crisis Management and Environmental business. From 2002 to 2006, Jim was Executive Vice President and then President of AIG Global Energy Casualty. Prior to Jim holding roles within AIG Risk Management Inc. and the Transportation and Energy Divisions, he also held various underwriting management positions with Liberty Mutual Insurance Group.

Alex Pittignano - Vice President of the Crisis Management and Environmental Divisions. Alex will be responsible for growing and managing this portfolio. He has 10 years experience in the insurance industry, having held positions as the practice leader for Environmental Liabilities in the United States and Europe and as a global leader for Crisis Management with AIU. Most recently he was Vice President - Environmental Liabilities for Rockhill Underwriting Management.

Ian Davey - Chief Underwriting Officer of the Program Division. Ian has over thirty five years of experience in the insurance industry and will be responsible for the underwriting and management of all managing general agency business as well as direct agency business. He most recently served as Senior Vice President for QBE for all U.S. entities.
