Jerome Penxa Jr. of Romeo, Christine Bator of Warren, Dave Tulak of Taylor and Debra Dickerson of Detroit are captains of the all-city teams announced by the Metro Detroit United States Bowling Congress Association.
Penxa, who had two top-10 finishes in the city tournament and two in the state tournament, led the men's team with 82 1/2 points. Others on the team are Jeff Austreng of Waterford (80), Paul Koehler of Roseville (78), Craig Nidiffer of Trenton (67 1/2 ) and Jay Lang of Sterling Heights (67 1/2 ).
Bator also had several top-10 finishes in city and state tournaments and totaled 105 points to lead the women's team. Also on the team are Nicole Idziak-Owsley of Washington Township (95 1/2 ), Jennifer Bator (Christine's sister) of Eastpointe (77 1/2 ), Christina Howard of Detroit (72) and Kimberly Maddy of Utica (67). Howard was the Michigan State singles and all-events champion.
Tulak was first among MDUSBC seniors and third overall in the Michigan State tournament singles and first among MDUSBC seniors in the Michigan State all-events. He is joined by MDUSBC Senior Masters winner Mitch Jabczenski Sr. of Novi (70), Doug Evans of Southgate (70), Lawrence Richardson of Southfield (61) and Larry Walker of Garden City (61).
Dickerson was second in the MDUSBC Senior Queens and fifth in the MDUSBC Queens. Also on the team are Gwendolyn Finley of Detroit (52 1/2 ), Ricki Schneider of Detroit (49), Yvonne Ogburn of Detroit (44) and Virginia Austin of Detroit (41).
