In recognition of the MARINES involvement with the MANO A MANO Event, SUN is offering 50% off ALL tickets to the men and women service members in Uniform attending the Event. Sgt. Mel Lopez, Marketing & Public Affairs, Marine Corps Recruiting Station in Dallas, stated, "We are very excited to be a part of this Event and know the thrill that MMA brings to our troops around the world. We are also proud to be able to present the Color Guard for the opening ceremony."
The MARINES will be promoting the Event at their Recruitment Centers in the Dallas area as well as marketing several outreach programs. The MARINES sponsorship also includes a block of free promo tickets that will be distributed in select areas.
US Army 1st Lt Dane Harris in a letter to SUN stated, "This weekend, my Unit will be training at our facility in Mesquite, which is 5 minutes from the Arena. As you likely know, our fighting style in the Army is based on Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, and I'd like to bring my Soldiers to the event on Sunday."
In an exciting Press Conference held July 7th, 2009 at the Mesquite Resistol Arena, invited Media, fighters and VIPs were captivated with the new 100% Latino Program. The Media had a chance to see a sneak preview video promotion of the upcoming event and interview some of the fighters that were present as well as former MMA Icon, Tra "Trauma" Telligman now coaching and training many new and upcoming fighters. Members of Television, Radio and Print Media performed one-on-one interviews as well as gathered footage for feature stories to the upcoming event.
