Wincanton reportedly intends to eliminate approximately 75 jobs at the Bridgwater distribution depot. The Bridgwater plant employs 400 staff.
According to media reports, Wincanton has earlier entered into a consultation period with employees of the Bridgwater distribution depot ahead of possible redundancies. In addition, Wincanton has also entered into a consultation period with 190 employees of the East Kilbride distribution center for its possible closure.
Previuosly, Wincanton has initiated a review of its distribution process after The Co-operative Group acquired Somerfield in March 2009.
