TEMPE, Ariz., Jul 13, 2009 (BUSINESS WIRE) --
MOTR | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- More than 4,500 Indiana consumers filed identity theft complaints with
the Federal Trade Commission in 2008, an increase of more than 12
percent over the previous year, according to FTC statistics. Among those
complaints filed by Indiana victims, credit card fraud, phone and
utilities fraud, and government document or benefit fraud accounted for
more than 50 percent of the identity theft cases.

A new partnership announced today between the AAA Hoosier Motor Club in
Indiana and LifeLock, Inc., a leader in identity theft protection
services, aims to help more consumers put up layers of protection
against the threats of identity theft. Under the partnership, AAA
Hoosier Motor Club members can receive the LifeLock(R) identity theft
protection services at a discounted rate as part of the Show Your Card &
Save(R) program. The LifeLock(R) services benefit joins the dozens of hotel,
automotive and retail discounts already available to AAA members.

"We have forged a strong relationship with AAA during the past year and
are pleased to add AAA Hoosier Motor Club to our growing list of AAA
affiliations," said Steve McGrady, Vice President of Partner Sales at
LifeLock. "The AAA organization has a longstanding commitment to the
safety of its members, and we are honored to be a key component of that
commitment. This partnership affords us the opportunity to educate more
families about the threats of identity theft, but more importantly, it
allows us the chance to empower consumers and give them tools to help
them fight back against identity thieves."

Identity theft is costing Americans more than $1.8 billion annually,
according to the Federal Trade Commission, and the latest FTC reports
show the number of identity theft complaints in the U.S. has grown by 80
percent since 2000.

"As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance the many benefits associated
with AAA membership, we continuously strive to add high-quality Show
Your Card & Save partners. In that regard, we are extremely excited to
have affiliated with LifeLock and encourage all AAA Hoosier Motor Club
members to consider the beneficial services now available to them
through LifeLock at a discounted rate," said Greg Seiter, AAA Hoosier
Motor Club Public Affairs Manager.
