American Airlines installs 'Pet Relief Area' at New York's JFK Airport
AMR | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- American Airlines, a subsidiary of AMR Corp (NYSE:AMR) announced on
Tuesday that it has installed a Pet Relief Area at the American
Airlines Terminal at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport,
allowing passengers to give their cats or dogs a chance to relieve
themselves before being packed into their kennels.
The Pet Relief Area is a 30 feet by 50 feet enclosure, which includes
and 1,000 square foot patch of natural grass and a five foot wide
entrance gate. It also features a walkway, two benches, a 'Mutt Mitt'
dispenser and a rubbish bin for waste disposal.
The airline worked with the International Association of Assistance Dog
Partners to create the area and the terminal is now listed on the
PetFriendlyTravel.com website.
