The bridge, at State University Drive, has been closed since late December due to erosion damage to some of the pilings supporting the structure. Traffic has been rerouted to University Boulevard in the interim.
The agreement with the railway was the last barrier to overcome before repairs can start. In May, the commission approved a bid of $138,000 from Engineered Restorations Inc. of Lawrenceville to repair the structure.
"You approve this agreement and we can go forward with the repairs," said County Administrator Marcia Johnson. She added that insurance concerns had been addressed by Jeff Liipfert, county attorney.
