SEAP | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Federal contractor Science Applications International Corp has acquired McLean, Virginia-based cyber security product testing company Atlan. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Atlan evaluates IT security products against Federal Information Processing Standard, FIPS, and provides FIPS and secure content application protocol testing services.

Atlan's employees will join SAIC's accredited testing and evaluation laboratories, which are part of SAIC's intelligence and information solutions business unit led by Larry Cox, who said: "The addition of Atlan's FIPS testing capabilities enhances SAIC's overall cyber security capabilities as well as our portfolio of Common Criteria, FIPS, and SCAP testing services. The combined personnel and testing resources of SAIC and Atlan will help strengthen our position in the government cyber security product certification market."
