"With a new member joining Linkedin almost every second, professionals in all industries are quickly realizing social media is an important part of their business development strategy," said Chris Burgio, president of SFTA. "As a technology organization, we want our members to be on the cutting edge and maximizing technology to help their businesses grow."
Murray Izenwasser is a social media strategist, as well as the director of client strategy and interactive services at Starmark, a fully integrated advertising agency based in Fort Lauderdale. Izenwasser works with local, national and international corporations on social media strategy. He has been the featured speaker for numerous events and industry forums related to social media.
Nicole Governile, president of Alternative Resource Solutions Group, a strategic sales and marketing organization located in Fort Lauderdale, has also been the guest speaker for organizations on how to effectively integrate social media into your overall marketing and business goals. Combining the experience working with clients on sales strategy, effective networking and comprehensive marketing, Governile emphasizes that social networking is as important as face-to-face networking to grow business in the current economy.
Attendees will learn how to create a Linkedin profile, connect with friends and colleagues, how to utilize relationships and "Groups" to effectively prospect, create company pages and other tips and techniques to make social media an effective business tool.
The event will be held on Thursday, July 23 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., at the New Horizons Computer Learning Centers, located at 100 S. Pine Island Road, Plantation, Fla. The host sponsor, New Horizons Computer Learning Centers South Florida, has generously offered to supply computers during the event for anyone who cannot bring their laptop. All registrations, however, must be made in advance on the SFTA website: www.SouthFloridaTech.org.
