According to the company, the new Tsunami product family combines multiple-input and multiple-output and orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing technologies with its wireless outdoor routing protocol to provide point-to-point (PtP) and point-to-multipoint (PtMP) backhaul for carriers, wireless internet service providers (WISPs) and government entities.
Both the Tsunami QB-8100 PtP and the Tsunami MP-8100 PtMP provide 4G wireless backhaul with the following features: 300Mbps and 600Mbps PtP and PtMP systems. Performance is per link for PtP applications, and per sector for PtMP applications; and range in excess of 70km; and very low latency of the order of one to two milliseconds.
Pankaj Manglik, president and CEO of Proxim Wireless, said: "With these new products, Proxim is enabling carriers and WISPs to cost-effectively deploy true 4G networks with enough bandwidth to support today's demanding applications."
