IBM | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Certeon, a provider of virtual appliance solutions for WAN optimization and application acceleration, announced that it has added Torokina Networks to its Partner Program as a reseller of its aCelera Virtual Appliance software.

Privately held Torokina Networks is a systems integrator delivering telecom management solutions to 2G, 3G, NGN and VoiP service providers and network operators. Torokina reported that its customers deploy a variety of application development and collaboration environments, including IBM Rational ClearCase and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server.

"To broaden our proposal to our customers beyond the fundamental commodity solution of network, systems, and applications performance management, we evaluated a number of application performance optimizing solutions," said Chris Gibbs, CEO, Torokina Networks.

"Today's enterprises need to deploy and manage distributed application environments," noted Peter Dougherty, Co-founder and President, Certeon. "Torokina Networks can deliver more value to these enterprises through an integrated performance solution that supports the applications acceleration, scalability, and cost saving capabilities of Certeon's aCelera."

aCelera is a system-independent and hypervisor-agnostic, supporting remote application access in Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V and VMware ESX and ESXi environments. In addition, as an "open" virtual appliance, aCelera leverages the scalability of a virtual systems environment. aCelera performance scales linearly as more resources are added (i.e., CPU, memory, and disk), the company noted in a release.
