PowerRating -- An analysis of June search engine data shows that users who visit a site via organic search on Microsoft's (NASDAQ:MSFT) Bing are 55% more likely to click an advertisement, according to a report from TechCrunch's Eric Schonfeld. The report cited data collected by search-advertising network Chitika, revealing that when a user is directed from Google (NASDAQ:GOOG), they are 0.97% likely to click an ad, compared to 1.24% from Yahoo (NASDAQ:YHOO) and 1.5% from Bing. Obviously, the numbers may be skewed on a few factors. First, Bing only represents about 8% of overall search share, compared to Google's 83%. The next theory is that perhaps people using Bing are just more susceptible to advertising, and may have come to the search engine from any of the thousands of Bing ads all over the Internet. Bing grew Microsoft's search share in June, but time will tell how it will compete when its advertising budget runs out.
