BRIEF: Vitamin subsidiary is sold for $8.25M

NUTR | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Scottsdale-based Baywood International Inc. said Thursday that it has agreed to sell the assets of its wholly owned vitamin subsidiary, Nutritional Specialties Inc., to Nutra Inc., a subsidiary of Utah-based Nutraceutical International Corp.

Nutritional Specialties does business as LifeTime Vitamins. The purchase price was $8.25 million in cash, less payment of liabilities and certain pre-closing working capital adjustments.

Baywood said it will focus on the growth of its New Leaf Tea and future beverage products.
