Japan's Nihon Generic to launch in-house drug production

group member NIHON GENERIC CO. will launch in-house production
in Japan of generic pharmaceuticals from next spring as part of
efforts to build a stable supply and sales operation as demand
for the drugs rises. The company will begin by producing the
anti-inflammatory agent lornoxicam and the anti-platelet
medication cilostazol at its Tsukuba plant.

* Both are generic drugs currently in development with a
target release date of next May, pending approval from the
Ministry of Health.

* Combined production of five million tablets per year is
targeted to start.
