PowerRating -- Tanner Lowe of China fired a 2-under-par 69 Monday at Eagle Pointe to win the final event on the Southeast Texas PGA Junior Tour. Lowe finished five shots clear of Josh Talbert of Beaumont in Boys 16-18. Other flight winners included Matt Oesterling of The Woodlands (86 in Boys 14-15), Devin Mikulec of Houston (74 in Boys 12-13) and Brandi McDonald of Silsbee (83 in Girls 15-18) . . . In the STPGA's Parent-Junior, also held at Eagle Pointe, the duo of Kelly Bellard-Mark Bellard of Beaumont shot 73 to win 16-18 low gross. Lonnie LaBove-Josh LaBove of Port Neches took low net with a 74. In the 12-15 flight, Braden Bailey-Brad Bailey of Groves won low gross with an 80, while Drake Mosley-Wiley Mosley of Devers took low net with a 75. In 10-12, Adam Bushnell-Ricky Bushnell of Houston won low gross with a 75. Thaine Tillie-Troy Tillie claimed low net with a 73. Peyton Weems-Troy Weems of Lumberton won low gross in the 7-9 Modified Flight with an 83, while low net went to William McBride-James McBride of Houston with an 88 . . . Rob Long owns bragging rights to the only hole-in-one reported this week. Long sank a 9-iron on the 130-yard, 10th at The Patch. Witnesses included Lance Matthews, Billy Foret and Paul Kimball . . . Jimmy Jackson, with 10 points, won the Monday Seniors at Belle Oaks. Major Rising was a distant second with two points and Twyman Ash finished third with one point. Ash was the closest to the pin winner at No. 15 . . . The Seniors at The Babe was played in a 3 Ball Format, and the team of Larry Morris, George Hawkins, Paul Brown and Guy Van Cleve won the front, back and overall. Closest to the hole winners were Paul Duplantis (No. 2), Tommy Prejean (No. 7), Larry Morris (No. 12) and Pat Waite (No. 15) . . . The trio of Tim Turner, Hilario Padia and Charlie Huckaby finished 16&5 to win the Belle Oaks Thursday DogFight. Placing second at 15&7 was the team of Richard Briggs, Gary Fontenot and Dave English. Third at 10&5 went to Bill Hatfield, John House and Gene Harrison. Turner won closest to the pin at No. 8 and No. 15 . . . The Babe Zaharias DogFight was won by the foursome of Scott Meents, Harry Green, Calvin LaGrappe and Don Varing. They finished 18&6. Placing second at 17&9 was the team of Jarrod Castleman, Dave English, Mark Petry, Jeremy Hemler and Harold Wilkinson. Closest to the pin winners were Meents (No. 2), Ted Martin (No. 7), Jim Thompson (No. 12) and Tommy Reeves (No. 15) . . . Winning team in the Nederland Youth Football Scramble at Babe Zaharias was made up of Monte Barrow, Chad Bennett, Brian Spell and Brandon Spell. Their 60 was one shot better than the 61 posted by the team of Chris Peveto, Johnny Krautz, Jared Abshire and Johnny Miguez. Barrow was the long drive winner on No. 3, while Brent Guidry won closest to the hole on No. 12 . . . Entries are being taken for the 15th annual Joe Williamson Memorial Tournament Saturday, Aug. 15 at Babe Zaharias. Format is a two-man scrmable, wih team flighed by the low handicap. Cost is $50 per player and includes all golf fees plus food and drinks. All proceeds go to scholarships for Nederland and PN-G students. Anyone wishing to enter should call Wendell Meaux at 722-3043 or the Zaharias pro shop at 722-8286 . . . Pro-Am spots are being filled for the Adams Golf Beaumont Open Tuesday, Aug. 18 at Beaumont County Club. Cost per three-player team is $750, which includes all BCC fees, lunch and an Adidas golf packet. Each team will be paired with one of the players from the Adams Tour, with shotgun starts set for 8 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Anyone wishing to enter should phone the American Cancer Society at 835-2139. The ACS/Beaumont area is the tournament's charity. The Beaumont Open is a 72-hole event scheduled for Aug. 19-22.
