Chen exposed the news at a press conference releasing the name change of xiaonei.com, OPI's affiliated SNS Web site. Previously, OPI acquired 5.28 million shares in eLong for USD 18.5 million, taking a 23.7% stake in the latter and becoming its second largest shareholder.
In Chen's opinion, online travel is the most successful e-commerce form on the Web 2.0 platform. OPI will not try other operations unless it makes a success in the business.
Chen denied the rampant talks that xiaonei.com would be merged with mop.com, another strength of OPI. Xiaonei.com was oriented to students in the early stage of its development. Because more Internet users from other fields become interested in the service, the site set up a platform for white collars at the end of 2007.
