Corus Entertainment Inc., a market leader in radio and specialty television, and Viigo Inc., a developer of the popular mobile content and services platform for smartphones, have once again teamed up to provide Corus Radio syndicated content to mobile users with BlackBerry and Windows based devices free of charge with the launch of ExploreMusic, Alan Cross' new show and web portal about musical discovery and exploration.
Starting on Monday, August 17, listeners can download an ExploreMusic version of Viigo that comes complete with all of the content that is on the website (http://getviigo.com/exploremusic). Music fans can also view the ExploreMusic Twitter posts from Alan Cross directly from within the ExploreMusic module, with no need to access Twitter itself, getting up-to-the-minute band and music industry updates from Alan himself.
"This is another great opportunity for ExploreMusic fans to connect with Alan directly," said David Huszar, VP and GM, Corus Interactive and Integrated Solutions. "Given the popularity of ExploreMusic.com and its daily radio show, this interactive element is part of our ongoing strategy to connect our listeners with our hosts and offer our audiences refreshed content on a minute-to-minute basis."
"The partnership with Corus is an exciting initiative for Viigo," said Mark Ruddock, CEO of Viigo. "We are especially pleased to be providing the ExploreMusic fan base with access to their favourite content, anytime and anywhere."
Along with ExploreMusic, Viigo already offers Corus Entertainment brands AM640 Toronto RADIO, Q107 (Toronto), 102.1 the Edge (Toronto), CKNW AM 980 (Vancouver), 630 CHED (Edmonton), AM900 CHML (Hamilton), AM 770 (Calgary), CJOB 68 (Winnipeg) and iNews880 (Edmonton) to its users. The ExploreMusic Viigo build will be available for download at http://getviigo.com/exploremusic.
