This compares with an operating income of USD1.5m and net income of USD1.1m last year.
Operating income is defined by New Horizons as income before gains (losses) from the sale of assets, interest and income taxes. It did not provide reasons for the decrease in income.
Revenue for the quarter ended 30 June 2009 totalled USD8.8m, while the total system-wide revenue from all franchised and company-owned training centres was USD80.1m, a decrease of 24.1% from the same quarter of 2008.
US based New Horizons has over 300 centres in 60 countries.
