"Ritchie Bros. has been holding auctions in the St. Louis metro area since 1993 and we're very excited about finally becoming a permanent fixture in the community with the opening of our new St. Louis auction site," said Jesse Cantin, Regional Manager, Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers. "We've built many long-term relationships with equipment owners and solidified a strong presence in the area over the years. This has given us the opportunity to establish a new permanent high-profile auction site and facility on I-64 that will enable us to provide an even higher level of service to all of our customers in the St. Louis area."
The new Ritchie Bros. auction site in St. Louis will hold regular unreserved auctions throughout the year for local and international customers interested in buying and selling equipment.
Approximately 40-acres of the 68-acre St. Louis auction site will be developed during the first phase of construction. Plans include the building of 13,500-sq ft auction facility housing offices, customer registration and a 500+ seat auction theatre by March 2010.
Over 15,000 registered bidders have bid on more than 11,000 equipment items sold in St. Louis auctions since 1993. An upcoming unreserved public auction to be held on October 2, 2009 at 1400 Shapiro Drive in Festus, MO while construction is being carried out at the new auction site will mark the Company's 20th auction in St. Louis.
