Three members of the group are paddlers who qualified for Team USA! in this year's competition: Phil Barringer and Dan Harris of TECO Energy and Pam Korotky of the Tampa Bay Dragon Boat Club.
Eight others, including Paul Catoe, president and chief executive of Tampa Bay and Co., Hillsborough County's visitors marketing bureau, will travel to the Czech Republic to learn more about staging the world championship event Tampa was awarded in 2007.

Tampa held the sixth annual Tampa Bay International Dragon Boat Races on Garrison Channel in May, drawing more than 50 teams from across the nation.
Each of the boats, which resemble an elongated canoe with ornate Chinese decor to reflect the origin of the sport, is 45 feet long, with 20 paddlers who sit in 10 pairs of two.
