Military operation against militants in countrys interest: Kazmi
ZZIAC | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sayed Hamid Saeed Kazmi has said the military operation against the anti-state elements including militants and terrorists in Swat, Malakand and other troubled areas of NWFP is the need of hour and in the larger national interest. He was addressing Shan-e-Mustafa (SAW) conference held under the auspices of Markazi Milad Committee Mirpur, here. Eminent religious scholars including Sahibzada Saqib Raza Mustafaie, Dr. Ashfaq Jilali, Ghulam Rasool Awami, Sheikh Muhammad Sarwar, Moulana Muhammad Aslam Naqshbandi, Sayed Imran Afghan and Sayed Faiz Rasool also addressed the congregation.
Speakers highlighted the Seerat un Nabi (SAW), the life of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and called for strictly acting upon the sayings of the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) since the salvation here and hereafter lies only in the total implementation of Islamic teachings in our individual and collective lives, they added. Sayed Hamid Saeed Kazmi recalled that the government tried her best to restore and maintain peace and order and the writ of the state in troubled Swat, Malakand and other forward areas of the NWFP through all possible peaceful and political means.
He said that contrary to these sincere endeavours of the government to restore peace in the area, the extremists and terrorist continued their anti-state and subversive activities against the innocent population of the area and the state by blatantly disbanding the peace agreement. The minister further said that by continuing their reign of terror and subversion, the militants and terrorists rendered millions of innocent people of the area homeless. Kazmi said that the return of the millions of the IDPs could be made possible only as a result of the successful military operation against the militants in the troubled areas.
Sayed Hamid Saeed Kazmi said the military operation against the terrorists had become imperative in view of the frequent occurrence of suicide terror attacks against the law enforcing agencies and defence forces of the country in those days. Sayed Hamid Saeed Kazmi said that the teachings of Islam and the life of Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) envisage complete code of a good human life. He said that the life of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) is the complete source of inspiration and beacon of light for the entire humanity and especially for the Muslims who should strictly act upon the sayings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) and the teachings of Islam.
Speakers said Islam gives the message of peace and harmony. Speakers called for maintaining complete unity, harmony and integrity in the ranks of the entire Pakistani nation to get the country rid of the prevailing grim circumstances by strictly acting upon the teachings of Islam.
