Right To Play has described its projects in Uganda as the most successful amongst the 23 countries where it operates.
"Our operations here have gone beyond expectation," noted the charity president and founder Norwegian Johann Johan Olav Koss while touring projects in Western Uganda three weeks ago.
An amazed Koss said country manager Peter Etabu had for only $13 (sh27,000) per child per year managed to reach out to 151,000 children.
The charity's projects worldwide cover 650,000 children and a total of 13,780 coaches.
It uses sport and play programmes to improve health, develop life skills and foster peace for children and communities in some of the most disadvantaged areas of the world.
Local community leaders are trained as coaches to deliver the programmes in countries affected by war, poverty, and disease in Africa, Asia, the Middle East and South America.
