This year's Virgin Mobile FreeFest continues to give back by unleashing street performers in Washington, D.C. and surrounding metro areas in the days leading up to FreeFest on August 30th at Merriweather Post Pavilion, in Columbia, Md. Street performers including singer/songwriters, visual artists, comedians and dancers will all be entertaining the crowds at Will Call ticket locations: the 9:30 Club and Merriweather Post Pavilion and at Dupont Circle in D.C. to collect cash donations from the public to benefit youth homeless centers through The RE*Generation program, Virgin Mobile USA's initiative to help homeless youth. See detailed schedule of events below.

Music fans who have secured tickets to Virgin Mobile FreeFest through Ticketmaster will be able to pick up tickets at the following Will Call locations:
-- 9:30 Club, 815 V Street, NW, Washington, D.C., from August 25 & 26 from Noon - 7:00pm; and August 27 & 28 from Noon - 11:00pm.
-- Merriweather Post Pavilion, 10475 Little Patuxent Parkway Columbia, Md., Aug. 26 - 27 10:00 AM - 5:30 PM; August 28th from 10:00 AM - 9:00 PM.
Street Performers:
Street performers will be stationed at both the 9:30 Club, Merriweather Post Pavilion and Dupont Circle in D.C. to provide entertainment for those waiting in line for tickets and passersby in D.C. beginning on August 28th:
-- The 9:30 Club and at Dupont Circle on August 28th for the following times: 12:00 - 1:30 PM; 2:30 - 4:00 PM; 5:30 - 7:00 PM; 7:30 - 9:00 PM.
-- Merriweather Post Pavilion on August 28th from 12:00 - 1:30 PM; 2:30 - 4:00 PM; 5:30 - 7:00 PM; 7:30 - 9:00 PM.
-- FREE Papa John's Pizza slices will be given out at the following locations:
-- Thursday August 27th:12pm-4pm Union Station area, Tenley Center, National Mall Area
-- Friday August 28th: 2pm-5:30pm Columbia Heights & 9:30 Club Will Call Ticket Pick-up
-- Saturday August 29th: 12pm-4pm Georgetown area
August 29th:
-- DC 101 Campout Auction: for listeners to win a chance to camp out overnight with Elliot of the syndicated "Elliot In The Morning Show" at Merriweather Post Pavilion and tickets to Virgin Mobile FreeFest; Papa John's to provide pizzas for listeners.
August 30th:
-- Virgin Mobile FreeFest at Merriweather Post Pavilion doors open at 11 a.m. -- Press Credentials must be submitted and approved prior to August 30th.
FREEFEST BANDS:
Blink-182, Weezer, Franz Ferdinand, Girl Talk, Jet, Mates of State, Public Enemy, Taking Back Sunday, The Bravery, The Hold Steady, The National, St. Vincent, and Wale. Dance tent acts include Danny Howells, Holy F*ck, Lee Burridge and Pete Tong.
