Deutsch was additionally appointed as a non-executive director of the company's Lloyd's Managing Agency and main operating subsidiary, Chaucer Syndicates Limited.
Deutsch has extensive insurance experience in senior executive or directorship roles in several companies and was a director with Chaucer from January 2002 to December 2008.
The company revealed that a conflict of interest from his role as CEO of another Lloyd's insurer Ironshore Inc that owns Pembroke Managing Agency, made him resign from Chaucer' board. The conflict has been resolved now with his resignation from Ironshore on 31 March 2009, it added.
Chaucer further announced the appointment of Richard Scholes as senior independent director, he has been a non-executive director of the company since 2003.
