70 KU students get Mitsubishi scholarship cheques

Karachi, Aug 26, 2009 (Asia Pulse Data Source via COMTEX) -- MSBHY | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- We have made arrangements that no student should go with unfinished education from our university because of financial crises, for this purpose we are providing financial assistance to such students. Prof. Dr. Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui, Vice Chancellor, University of Karachi said this in his address to a Scholarship Cheque Distribution Ceremony held on 25th August 2009, organized by Director Student Financial Aid Office in collaboration with Mitsubishi Corporation International.

Cheques were distributed among 70 students enrolled in badges of 2007 and 2008, out of which, Narender Kumar Lakhani and Sana Raes from BBA department 07 and Rehan Jawaid and S. K. Makhood Sharfuddin from the department of Business Administration 08 got cheques of Rs. 25000/. Others were given cheques from Rs. 15000 to Rs. 4000 based on the merit credibility of every student.

The VC further added that University enjoys friendly relationships with many well-reputed organizations of the world which benefit the institution. The companies have always been generous in providing financial assistance to the students. Masaharu Domichi, General Manager Mitsubishi Corporation International also spoke on the occasion.

He said that Mitsubishi Corporation wants to construct harmony between Pakistan and Japan, this financial assistance is our signature of gratitude to the people of Pakistan for their co operation and consideration. Dean Faculty of Science Prof. Dr. Shahana Urooj Kazmi, Dean Management and Information Sciences Prof. Dr. Abuzar Wajidi, Dean Faculty of Pharmacy Prof. Dr. Wasimuddin Khan, Mr. Ayaz Ahmed Khan and others also attended the ceremony.
