Grant County PUD is a US public utility that delivers access to high-speed Internet, television, telephone and wireless services as well as electric power to consumers and businesses.
The fibre-optic service is currently available to nearly 15,000 homes, businesses and farms in the county.
Infinera's digital architecture, based on its large-scale photonic integrated circuits (PICs), will enable the network to add capacity quickly and easily. The company said that its Digital ROADM architecture enables the network to be reconfigured in software in response to changing traffic patterns.
Infinera provides digital optical networking systems to telecoms carriers worldwide.
