August 31, 2009 (FinancialWire) -- Continental Prison Systems, Inc. (OTC: CPSZ), dba EZ Card & Kiosk, was recently awarded a multi-year contract for its full line-up of EZ Technology at the Mendocino County (Ukiah, California) jail facility. Installation of the three kiosks and extensive system training will commence the middle of September at this 300 bed facility.
The EZ Technology line-up, which will take the Mendocino County Jail "Cashless," includes an EZ Booking kiosk in the booking room, along with the EZ Text Messaging service; EZ Bail kiosk in the holding area; and a third kiosk for EZ Money Load in the main lobby of the jail, allowing friends and family to place money into the inmate's trust account, using cash, credit card or debit card. Both the EZ Money Load and EZ Bail services can also be accessed remotely via a secure website or toll-free 800 number, which accepts credit and debit cards.
The EZ Release Card debit card completes the compliment of EZ Card & Kiosk services at Mendocino County, which is issued to inmates being released instead of the usual paper check. This allows the released inmate to immediately access their money through an ATM or any Point-of-Sale location with this PIN-based debit card.
"This will be our first full installation at a California county jail facility," states Gregg Hodge, VP of Sales, "which will be followed-up by three additional county jail facilities over the next two months, here in the State of California."
