Focusing specifically on the demand for technology and computers in public schools, the school was chosen based on an expressed need outlined in the grant application. Future Shop has provided Robert Cecil Palmer Secondary School with state-of-the-art technology to help with the economic and digital divide that is a present concern for grade 10-12 students. The Future Generation Tech Lab will encourage youth engagement, inspiration and innovation.

The Future Generation Tech Lab program expands on a nearly 10-year commitment to support students and education in Canada. Since 2001, Future Shop has donated over 500 post-secondary scholarships (valued at $3,000 each), over 600 computers to non-profit partners and five Tech Labs to secondary schools across Canada.
